This morning we will take a look at the prophet Zephaniah and his promise of both judgment and hope. Like most of the Minor Prophets, Zephaniah promises that God is coming to judge his people, to rid the land of idolatry, greed and injustice. But, like most of the Minor Prophets, Zephaniah also prophecies a day when God will make all things new. However, Zephaniah concludes with what may be the most beautiful, encouraging picture of the future kingdom, that of the God who is mighty to save and who rejoices over his people with song.
